I rate Cook'n 5 stars! With no qualms. I love the new Cook'n Capture Plug In. So convenient. Especially I appreciate the tech department. I have needed their services numerous times. Their expert and patient help was quickly offered. My previous Living Cookbook tech dept never did answer my emails. Thank you Cook'n

Giving this program 1 star is a stretch. I was excited when I first became a Cook'n user and purchase the program for several family members. Then greed caught hold of these guys and they started demanding a monthly fee. That is when I decided that that this program wasn't worth anything any more. I hope no one get sucked into buying this program and that the owners either change their money grabbing plans or loose all their business.

I really like my Cook’n. I was totally obsessed with recipes, still am, but I had a ton of recipe cards and magazine pages. I really like how I can have those recipes but on the computer/iPad/iPhone. Now when I want a certain recipe, I can just do a quick search and it doesn’t involve a cupboard full of cookbooks or a binder full of recipe cards. And it can go anywhere I am!

Updates: Add new chapter, add, edit features do not work. Tried deleting app and reloading to no avail. Otherwise love the program and apps. Note: Update works on iphone.

So far so great. Easy to upload via web or my receipt book.

Love how easy this app works

I have been using this program almost since the very beginning so have seen it come so very far. I actually don’t know what I would do without it. Not only do I have all my favorite recipes that I’ve actually made (and now can easily edit and share), But now instead of having folders, binders and drawers full of recipes that I’ve torn out of magazines, I have them easily organized in this fabulous app. And one of the other really cool features is if you are a premium member, their support staff is the best of any program I’ve ever used. I always get personal responses to emails that I send asking how to do something no matter how complicated I think it is. I can’t say enough about this and highly recommend it to anyone who likes to collect recipes. With the new capture feature it couldn’t be easier to pull things from magazines, Blogs and other online sources.

This Cook’n App saves your precious recipes. It prints, saves, shares and categorizes the cookbook you make. They can print it too. I discovered Thanksgiving recipes and a wealth of knowledge from the Cook’n Community! Just Amazing! You can buy cookbooks too. Join the fun! You’ll be surprised!

Easy to use and the best recipe app I’ve ever used.

I have been a customer from the start. Back then you only had access on your PC. I was a customer when they initiated Cook’n Cloud, and when the app became available for iPhone. I have purchased updates every time they were available. Now I have access on my iPhone, two iPads, and my PC., and they sync with the click of the mouse. I highly recommend the software. Their support staff is awesome, and has never failed to respond when I had a problem.

Although I’ve had challenges from time to time, overall it’s a great program.

Greatest thing ever. I capture all my recipes here. The best part is that as long as my phone is with me so are my recipes. I love scaling recipes so quickly to increase or decrease the ingredients based on the serving size. And it does it so quickly! The internet search and capture feature is fantastic. I’ve been using this database for years and am increasingly impressed with how dvo works to keep things working smoothly and efficiently. I can’t imagine being in the grocery store and encountering a glitch that would interfere with my shopping for a special meal. Never happened. It’s always there when I need it. I can’t imagine EVER using another recipe database.

I’ve had this a long time. Take it on vac. Take it to grocery, take to my kitchen. Always have a great recipe handy. Love it.

Easy to save recipes or to input your family or original recipes!!

We have used Cook’n for years!! I brag about all it’s features to friends and family. Anyone who will listen gets to hear how amazingly easy it is to use. I transferred all our family recipes into Cook’n. I’ve created menu’s for a whole year. It’s also super easy to capture recipes and print out ones you want to share with friends. Best program ever!!!!

I’ve used this app from its very beginning. It has been wonderful! It has kept up with technology and continues to add features. I love how I can capture almost any recipe from the internet or type in my own and categorize it. I can share recipes instantly from anywhere as well. When grocery shopping, I can look up a recipe at the store to make sure I have all the ingredients! Dan, you and your staff ROCK!

I use the cookbook program on my Mac and sync it to the app. My cookbook is always available for easy lookup or sharing. Also look up a recipe in the grocery store and you have the ingredients list right there.

I have been using Cook’n for about 9 years or more. It is the best cookbook organizer I have ever used. I love having it on my MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone. Everything syncs so all my recipes are always at my fingers. Somebody likes something I made, I can just click on the recipe and email it to them right there. I love the many ways you can add recipes to your cookbooks. I look forward to them getting the sub chapters set up. Best cookbook program!

I’d give it 5 stars for performance but I think it is too expensive. The bottom entry plan is over $60/year. I opted for the 3 month @$1/month. Don’t know what I will do when that time expires but I certainly won’t spend that kind of money on an app. I guess I will have to search for one that is less expensive.

The very very best. I have been using this for 10 years. I try others along the way and always go back to Cook’n. I am always pleased with the new additions each year as well

Great recipes and easy to use!

Loved the app when I started, but now there are so many ads you can’t even use the app. You have to watch a 2 minute video before you can even get to your recipes

I’ve been a loyal Cook’n user almost from it’s inception. It has only gotten better and better with time. I use it on a daily basis. Two of my favorite features? The ability to create shopping lists and to capture recipes!

If you haven’t ordered the new Cook’n cook book yet why are you waiting? It’s awesome and works well with your computer while bridging to your laptop, iPad and smartphone. It’s the best. See my earlier post below. I downloaded the new version of Cook’n and had a little trouble getting the older version of my recipes to transfer to the new version. I got lucky and found great support. Their tech person MATTHEW was awesome. He was very patient as we jumped the hurdles. Can’t thank MATTHEW enough. The Cook’n app is awesome.

I have been a subscriber of Cook’n for the last 12 years! And there’s nothing about it that I’ve ever been disappointed in. I can’t even tell you how many cookbooks I have now. I have our own Johnson family cookbook… But also over 70 other cookbooks. I refer to my cooking app very often… And add recipes weekly into my cookbook. If I’ve ever had any concerns…their support staff has been amazing and quick to respond.

I have been using various versions of this software since 1999. It has evolved into a product I use several times a day for everything related to my health and nutrition. It is rare in this day to find a company that truly cares, but this one has always had the best interest of my family as it’s too priority since day one. It helps me save money in so many ways and the newsletters and now social part of the app have enriched my life in more ways than simple recipes. The latest features for capturing your recipes from the web as well as fellow users and the customizable way to organize your collection are indispensable. Yet what puts this program over the top for me is that I can preserve my family’s handwritten recipes and memories in a beautiful format that I can print into a bound cookbook. Finally I have a way to share the thing I have been preserving for years with those I love the most now that my memory is starting to fail me. Thank you to Dan Oaks and his entire team at DVO, Cook’n is one of the very few programs and services that I recommend to anyone who mentions a need. You all are tops in my book.

I have entered my special family recipes and love that I can easily find them using my phone. The “capture”feature is awesome. I find recipes from different sources. Once I make the recipe and like it I can easily find it using the search option. Capturing the recipe and adding it to my cookbook is so easy. I have had this app for years and really appreciate all the updates that have made it so great.

Really is a fantastic application, it allows me to do so many different kinds of things, I use on a daily basis

Loving this app. I really like seeing all the recipes and being able to save them to a nice folder system. Adding stuff to shopping lists is so easy also! An idea for improvement would be adding a filter to search for published recipes based on tags. Like I would really like to search for no/low salt or low carbs since my fam/parents need to watch their sodium/carb intake for blood pressure/other medical concerns. I know there is a search internet option, but it struggles to load pages and capturing recipes misses stuff like a picture of the end result. Another Idea would be to give the AI filters. I read about how it works and devs said just capture more. Well iv captured a lot and it still does not give low carb suggestions. Tons of pasta and sugary deserts.

This is the easiest and best recipe app. I have it on my desktop as well as saved to the Cook.n cloud. It syncs easily with my iPad and iPhone. I love that when I see a recipe online I can just copy and paste the link into my Cook’n app and the recipe and all the directions just appear. Even when there was a glitch on my iPad they fixed it within 2 days. Worth every penny! I love going to the grocery store and having all of my recipes easily available so that I don’t forget any ingredients. I have also shared my recipes with friends and family. I love it!

This app is fantastic, being able to convert 6 servings into a 100 servings makes my job so much easier!!!! Importing recipes from just about anywhere is great as well!!!! I really appreciate and enjoy this app, thank you!!! The one thing that would really be a huge bonus, would be if the app told you how many ounces per serving for each recipe. This would make calculating how many servings You need much easier, especially when serving 80 to 100 people.

When yumly went away in December 2024, I discovered Cook’n. Easy to organize and search. I pay for the basic level and I am really enjoying it.

Love what I see so far!

I love scanning my favorite recipes into this easy to use app. And you can curate preferred recipes with the Discover tool. Love it!!!

I have been wanting a recipe database to store all my Family Recipes. Cook’n has lived up to the test and I trust all my recipes in one place and when you subscribe to the cloud your recipes are available to all your friends and family. Love it!

I love having my favorite recipes available when I travel. Instead of carrying multiple recipe books or cards, I have this app available on my iPad and am ready to cook wherever I travel.

I have been using this program for many years. I have had my share of glitches (some operator error, others program error) but when I have emailed Cook’n with my issues they have always been prompt in helping me resolve the problem. I too was disappointed about a monthly charge after buying the program but with more technology and updates and improvements I think it has been worth it. I love the program and have it synced with my iPhone and iPad.

I have used Cook’n for years. It has given me lots of great recipes. It has taught me a lot about cooking. My family looks forward to my experimental dishes. The software is worth every penny. The support of the DVO team for the software is unmatched by any support team for any software. Each question is addressed, quickly and completely. When you contact the team, you feel you are talking with family. I highly recommend this program Reid Vass

I started using Cook’n clear back when they used CDs in Alpine Utah! I’ve stuck with them and it has become my favorite book easy to add and share recipes and my daughters and I stay connected with family traditions through our recipes. I love this product and service. Thank you so very much.

I have been using Cook’n for years & I love it! I have the desktop app & the phone app & they work great together.
